Man with felony assault warrant arrested during suspicious person contact Wednesday morning

On Wednesday, May 31st, 2023, at 11:19 am, a Turlock Police officer near McDonald’s, 2400 Geer Rd, Turlock, noticed and got out with a suspicious person.

The officer identified the man as Michael Ortiz, 20, of Merced, and had his dispatcher run him. The officer discovered that Ortiz had a $100,000 felony Ramey warrant out of Merced County for assault with a deadly weapon other than a firearm.

Ortiz was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on his warrant, where he will ultimately be picked up by Merced County and transported to their jail.
